These terms are set forth by the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC)

Pricing Procedures

  1. It is the responsibility of the Project to pay registration and certification fees to the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
  2. It is the responsibility of the Project to pay verification fees to FSEC as outlined in the project invoice. Builder must pay fees upfront in order for the Green Rater to proceed unless otherwise agreed upon by FSEC and the Project. See pricing structure at: www.FloridaLEEDHomes.org/fees
  3. If Project does not achieve certification, fees paid upfront will be not reimbursed to the Builder.

Verification Service Procedures
The purpose of the verification process is to verify that the project completes prerequisites and selected credits according to the requirements in the LEED for Homes Rating System.

  1. FSEC and its Green Raters are responsible for providing LEED for Homes verification for the project along with basic technical support focusing on interpreting elements of LEED for Homes.
  2. The Project is responsible to acquire any services needed for LEED for Homes certification not provided by FSEC and its Green Raters such as: energy ratings, performance testing, detailed durability inspection, and detailed technical assistance. If needed project can acquire such services from a Field Agent or other source.  Any fees associated with such services are the responsibility of the Project.
  3. The Project is solely responsible for choosing LEED for Homes features that are appropriate for the home and for their proper installation.
  4. The Project has primary responsibility for the design and construction of the home(s) that are expected to meet the LEED for Homes program requirements. It is the Project’s responsibility to build the home(s) in accordance with LEED for Homes Rating System and allow such home(s) to be verified.
  5. FSEC and Green Raters are responsible only for verifying the completion of LEED for Homes requirements as set forth in the LEED for Homes Rating System; such verification in no way constitutes a warranty as to the appropriateness of the selected LEED for Homes measures or the quality of implementation.
  6. FSEC will request certification for the project from USGBC. Certification is contingent upon project being built and verified in accordance with LEED for Homes.  FSEC in no way guarantees that projects who complete the verification process will achieve certification.

Builder shall not construe, claim, or imply that its participation in LEED for Homes constitutes FSEC’s or the University of Central Florida’s approval, acceptance, or endorsement of anything other than the builder’s commitment to use the LEED for Homes Rating System.  This relationship does not constitute endorsement of the Builder, its homes, or its services.
